About Lottie

a word from the founder about how and why This project started

Hi I'm Lottie!

The Pony Project started from my own journey with neurodiversity and my lifelong feeling of not quite fitting into traditional boxes. Growing up, I often felt a bit lost in standard educational settings, where exams and written work didn’t really capture my strengths. But I found a deep sense of peace and connection when I was around horses—they’re so emotionally receptive that it felt like they understood me in a way the classroom never did.

Initially, I was all set on a career in professional show jumping, but life had other ideas. I spent time in India teaching children with special educational needs and saw firsthand how powerful the bond between horses and these children could be. That experience sparked a passion for combining my love of horses with an understanding of psychology.

After returning to England and studying more, I knew I wanted to create a space where others like me could thrive in a way that traditional settings might not allow. And that’s how The Pony Project came to be—a place to share that special connection and help others find their own path.
