Safe, Calm, Kind
Safe, Calm, Kind is an interactive, pony-led workshop designed to help children explore emotional regulation, communication, empathy and positive relationships in a completely different way.
Rather than simply talking about feelings and behaviour, we make them visible, practical and memorable.
With the help of our Tiny Teachers – our specially selected miniature ponies – children discover how body language, emotions and actions affect those around them. Ponies respond naturally to the way we approach, communicate and behave, giving children immediate, non-judgemental feedback and creating some brilliant opportunities for learning.

More than a pony visit
Safe, Calm, Kind has been developed as a structured learning experience rather than simply an animal encounter. Throughout the workshop, children are introduced to our simple Notice • Pause • Connect • Care framework. They learn to notice what is happening in themselves and others, pause before reacting, connect through calm and appropriate communication, and care about the effect their choices can have.
Through practical challenges, observation, discussion and carefully supported interaction with the ponies, we explore what it actually looks and feels like to be:
SAFE – understanding boundaries, body language, personal space and the consequences of our actions.
CALM – recognising feelings, noticing changes in our bodies and discovering practical ways to regulate ourselves.
KIND – developing empathy, communication, cooperation and respect for ourselves, other people and animals.
Learning beyond the classroom
Some of the most important skills children develop don’t always fit neatly behind a desk. Safe, Calm, Kind gives children the opportunity to learn through movement, experience, problem-solving and real interaction. There is no pressure to be good at ponies and no previous experience is needed, the ponies simply give us a wonderfully engaging way to start conversations that can sometimes be difficult to begin.
The workshop can support learning around PSHE, wellbeing, emotional literacy, relationships, behaviour and self-regulation, while providing an inclusive experience designed to engage a wide range of learners.
And when the ponies go home...
We want the learning to stay.
Schools receive supporting resources to help continue the Safe, Calm, Kind approach after our visit, allowing the language and strategies introduced during the workshop to become part of everyday classroom life.
Because ultimately, Safe, Calm, Kind isn’t really about learning how to work with ponies, it’s about learning how to work with ourselves and each other.
